THE BRIDGE has successfully initiated new UK / US global co-production models in lifestyle, food, natural history and drama with programming airing on, amongst others, National Geographic Wild, Foxtel, S4C, Scripps Networks’ Food Network EMEA & Cooking Channel US, Discovery Networks’ Food Network UK, UKTV and MBC & SBS Korea and Thai PBS & PPTV, Thailand.

THE BRIDGE incubates new creative IP and amplifies east-west creative opportunities, leveraging the company’s global market expertise and long-term pan Asian relationships to secure commissioning partners, source local production talent and secure private and public funding from multiple sources.

THE BRIDGE works with SVOD’s, OTT’s, commercial broadcasting networks, PSB’s and the independent production community creating partnerships that deliver significantly greater results than the sum of the individual parts.

THE BRIDGE’s long-term ambition is to boost creative production business between the English-speaking world and Asia, with the company being the key partner to facilitate those relationships and encourage broader commercial partnerships.

THE BRIDGE’S hub is in London from where it connects English-speaking producers and broadcasters with their Asian counterparts in China, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore.

The Bridge was founded by Amanda Groom. The company bridges the international media markets of east and west specialising in TV and film co-productions. Business in Asia is built on relationships and The Bridge is proud to have numerous long standing relationships throughout all Asia.

Amanda Groom

Amanda’s decade-long engagement with Asia has given her the inside track in the world’s fastest-growing TV and film markets. An award-winning international film and TV producer and channel executive with 20 years' experience, Amanda Groom has led TV, film and digital commercial initiatives maximising audiences and returning positive financial results to multiple stake holders with full P&L responsibility to Board level.

The Amanda has successfully initiated new UK / US global co-production models in lifestyle, food, natural history and drama working with programming airing on, amongst others, National Geographic Wild, Foxtel, S4C, Scripps Networks’ Food Network EMEA & Cooking Channel US, Discovery Networks’ Food Network UK, UKTV and MBC & SBS Korea, Thai PBS & PPTV, Thailand.

Amanda is a frequent key note speaker, panel moderator and pitch doctor for MIP& MIPcom and a panel host and contributor for MIPdocs, Mipcom, RealScreen and SunnySide & Asian Side. She has been a repeat mentor for Women in Film&TV and host of mentoring breakfasts for women in the creative industries for Reed Midem. She is a judge of the Seoul Drama Awards (2017), Asian Academy Awards (2019) and is currently judging the UK’s Broadcast Digital Awards (2020). She is a UK / Australian Media-Business Woman of the Year finalist and holds Friend of Australia status for digital media thought leadership. Amanda serves as Board Advisor / NED and is a member of the British Screen Forum.

Amanda's former roles include MD of Channel Health, SKY UK (B2B and B2C) and Head of Content, PCCW/IMG JV Network of the World. Amanda has worked with numerous broadcasters and production companies international including with Sony Pictures Television International, TWI/ IMG, PCCW, Pearson Television, National Geographic Channels, SKY UK and in Australia with Channel 9, Network TEN and ABC TV Documentaries. Amanda has led niche creative teams with small independent production companies and large teams with global broadcasters delivering award winning programming to the UK and international marketplace.
